Who do I call if I have a problem?
Our midwives are able to speak to you 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

What do I do if I think I am going into labour?
Contact the delivery suite on 9717 0118 and ask to speak to the midwife.
Where do I park?
Kareena Private Hospital has onsite paid parking available for patients and visitors. For parking fees please see here.
Entry to both the front and back paid car parks is via Kareena Road.
For convenience of patients and visitors, a dedicated patient drop off and pick up area is available at the front entrance of the hospital.
What do I do if I arrive at night?
After 10pm please use the intercom to the right of the main entrance - press it and assistance will be available.
Can the support person video the birth of my baby?
It is compulsory that you obtain permission from your obstetrician to use the video camera during their presence. No one is allowed to video procedures in the operating theatre.
Can my support person stay with me if I need a caesarean section?
If you are having an elective (planned) Caesarean section with an epidural, your support person will be able to attend. Should you require an emergency Caesarean Section your support person will be able to attend unless a general anaesthetic is given.
Can my husband / partner stay with me whilst I am in hospital?
While you are in labour, we encourage your husband/ partner to be your support person and to be with you at all times. To help this process we provide meals for your husband/ partner until you deliver. Whilst you are on the ward husband/ partners are welcome to stay overnight, however there will be a fee incurred. Complimentary meals are provided to husbands/ partners who stay overnight.
Can I video my baby’s birth?
Not the actual birth but with your doctor’s permission you can video in the Delivery room, but not the operating theatre.

Yes. You will be required to pay the mandatory $25 fee on admission which give access to WiFi and Foxtel.
Can my partner order a meal?
Partner’s meals are complimentary during their stay. Partners are welcome to stay, however there will be an accommodation fee applied.
How long do I stay in hospital once I have had my baby?
Length of stay is determined on delivery time and type so please talk to our experienced Midwives on admission to discuss your expected length of stay.
What is an antenatal card?
Your antenatal card will be given to you at you first appointment with your Obstetrician. Please carry it with you at all times and present it on admission to the Birth Suite.
When are the maternity tours?
Maternity tours are conducted the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month starting at 11:30am and again at 12:30pm. Please wait at the Birthing suite foyer area for Tours. We highly recommend taking a tour of our facilities and meeting our friendly staff. There is no need to book into our Maternity tours.
Do you need an obstetrician to book into Kareena Private?

Do I need to book in for antenatal classes?
Yes. The classes offered are listed on our website. Please book early to ensure a place at your preferred class.
Are refreshments provided in antenatal classes?
Yes, refreshments are provided depending on the length and time of the class.
Who can fit my baby capsule?
Please call the RTA on 132213 to find your nearest RTA authorised fitting station.
Can I make an appointment to see a Midwife before my baby is born?
Yes, we encourage making an appointment with one of our Midwives. Please call 02 97170000 to arrange an appointment.
How can I minimise the amount of times I visit Kareena Private before my admission date?
Kareena Private has introduced online admissions, which allows you to fill in and submit your preadmission forms online in the comfort of your own home. Click here to read more information about online pre admissions.
Our Maternity Unit can also take bookings for antenatal classes via phone. To book into your antenatal classes please call our Maternity Bookings Coordinator Mon- Fri, 9am- 2pm on 9717 0226.
