REFERRALS THROUGH THE ED

For GP’s
The GP calls Kareena Emergency Department on 9717 0156 and speaks to the Emergency Department Doctor on duty.
The Emergency Department will require a verbal history and a comprehensive written referral that is to be sent with the patient.

For VMO’s
The VMO calls the Kareena Emergency Department on 9717 0156 and speaks to the Emergency Department Doctor on duty.
The emergency Department will require a verbal history and a comprehensive written referral that also outlines what tests and treatment the VMO wants. This should all be sent with the patient.

REFERRALS TO REHABILITATION

Endeavour ward is a 24 rehab unit that provides rehabilitative care for Orthopaedic, Reconditioning, Neurosurgery and musculoskeletal patients.

We currently have 3 accepting consultants and a great multidisciplinary team including nursing, allied health, speech pathology and dietician, all working together to provide fantastic outcomes for our patients. The rehab unit is opened Monday to Saturday with Sunday a dedicated rest day.

Referrals to the unit can be done by contacting the Nurse Unit Manager on 9717 2342 or the After Hours Manager on 9717 2182.

The Nurse Unit Manager will get in touch to inform you of the patient’s acceptance to the Rehab program and to inform you when a bed becomes available.
