Employee Support Unit
Within Kareena Private Hospital our Employee Support Unit is committed to staff
benefits and development and a workforce that is at the forefront of medical
expertise and patient care. and works to support the 400+ staff employed
in Medical Nursing, Allied Health, Administration and support roles.

Wellbeing
and Balance Program
The Wellbeing and Balance program enables staff to access services such as
Employee Assistance program, onsite massage and beauty therapy, discounted
health insurance, salary packaging and financial planning advice.
The program also encompasses social events
for staff and their families through community sporting events
such as Sutherland and City to surf, Golf days, Bowls tournaments

Staff are
recognized for their individual contributions to Kareena through
Years of Service ceremonies, reward vouchers and team recognition
weeks.

Internal
Training and Development Programs
We are committed to promoting an encouraging personal and professional development
by offering internal education programs rangeing from clinical training to
management and administration skills.
Examples of this training include Preceptor
program, Advanced life support course, cannulation programs,
wound care, computer training, recruitment and selection and
management development programs.
All staff has access to the Ramsay online
library service, this service allows staff to access journals
and medical and nursing databases. The service is accessible
through hospital and remote computers.
Hospital
orientation programs
At the commencement of employment, all staff are required to attend a tailored
hospital orientation program, this program is conducted monthly and includes
a number of mandatory education programs such as customer service and emergency
training, manual handling/ health and safety and workplace diversity .
In addition to the hospital orientation
program all staff are provided with a comprehensive orientation
to the area or department in which they are employed.
External
education attendance
We support applications for external courses that include training programs
seminars / workshops and conferences that attract a fee and are conducted by
external organizations or higher education at TAFE and
Universities.
In addition, we provide annual study grants
for our employees to provide them with alternative external
education opportunities.
