Kareena Hospital says 'Thanks a Million' to volunteers
May 13, 2013
National Volunteers week will run between 13-19th May 2013.
Today there are over 6 million people volunteering annually in Australia according to the Volunteering Australia organisation.
National Volunteers week recognises the valuable contribution each individual provides by offering their time, skills and passion, continuing to demonstrate Australia's proud culture of giving.
This year's theme for National Volunteer Week is 'Thanks A Million'.
Kareena Private Hospital will recognise the contribution our valuable volunteers make at a special morning tea celebration with the hospital management.
Kareena Hospital has 15 volunteers that work throughout various departments of the hospital each week from Monday- Friday.
Our volunteers perform many important tasks such as:
- Attending to flowers in patients rooms
- Talking to patients
- Tying up gowns in Day Surgery
- Offering hand massages to patients
- Writing letters for patients
- Filing and administration tasks
- Assisting the kitchen with packing utility bags
- Spreading contagious smiles throughout the hospital!
We encourage our staff, patients and visitors to join us in thanking all our volunteers for their hard work, their dedication, their time and the difference they make to not only our hospital but the wider community too.
