Sod Turning marks commencement of development at Kareena Private Hospital

Ramsay Health Care's Managing Director, Chris Rex joined Kareena Private Hospital's Chief Executive Officer, Steven Schultze to celebrate the official commencement of Kareena Private Hospital's new $17 million development, at a turning of the sod ceremony.
Kareena Private Hospital will be transformed in the coming months with additional services, specialties and rooms added to the already quality health care facility.
The development will see Kareena Private Hospital increase to a modern 139 bed facility. Developments will see the inclusion of an additional Operating Theatre, private rooms and parenting suites for our maternity patients, new onsite medical consulting suites, a new 36 bed ward and a new 9 bed intensive care unit.
Kareena Private Hospital is excited to include new specialities to an already impressive portfolio including Neuro Spinal Surgery, Ophthalmic Surgery and Bariatric Surgery.
Also included in the developments are expansions for both the Pharmacy and Stores Departments, and relocation of the Medical Records Department.
Many of the staff celebrated with a special morning tea in the courtyard following the turning of the sod ceremony.
During the development period there will be limited parking available on site for patients and visitors, a designated Patient Drop Off Zone has been marked at the entrance to the hospital with clear signage. A full time traffic attendant is available during business hours to assist patients and visitors with car parking.
Construction is being managed by Akalan Projects and is expected to be completed in late 2014.
