Dr Fernando completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Monash University, Victoria in 2012 followed by internship, residency and training in Rehabilitation Medicine across various major hospitals in Sydney. She is a member of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and a fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (AFRM) since 2020. She has gained extensive experience in the management of various musculoskeletal, orthopaedic and neurological conditions, and is particularly passionate about caring for the older person and those living with chronic pain.
Dr Fernando enjoys practicing a holistic approach to healthcare, and works collaboratively with patients and their family members, and alongside an expert multi-disciplinary allied health team to provide individualised, high quality patient care.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr Fernando also enjoys mentoring and supporting junior doctors in training in Rehabilitation Medicine and has served as a clinical examiner for Fellowship examinations and was also a member of the AFRM curriculum renewal committee.
Dr Fernando has admitting rights at Kareena Private Hospital and also holds a staff specialist appointment at Calvary Hospital, Kogarah.
